Mark MacLeod Cognos: Another one bites the dust, eh

Yesterday, IBM announced it intends to acquire Cognos. Cognos was a leader in business intelligence for large F500 type companies. It was also one of a handful of remaining large Canadian technology companies. As an operator, I'm indifferent. This deal makes a lot of sense. Sherwin Shao Web 3.0 - The Future is Here

What is this mystical thing called Web 3.0 that everybody is waiting for? Like the silhouette of a stranger through the dense fog. Man or Monster? Friend or Foe?

Mark MacLeod Vive le Montreal: serving up late stage tech Canadian style…

It appears last week was the week for cross continental financings. jhaidar Will Google dethrone Office?

Google 'Docs & Spreadsheets' might become 'Docs, Spreadsheets, and Presentations' pretty soon. The Inquirer is reporting that the powerpoint clone, called Presently, will be announced soon. It completes Google's MS Office killer, adding to the Docs and Spreadsheets apps currently available.

Google's apps are web-based, provide online collaboration, and the goal is to increase productivity and collaboration. But the

Here's an excerpt from an Oct 1994 Wired article where Mr. Clark is interviewed. Remember, this is 1994 -
