Is Facebook the fad of 2007?

Before Facebook it was all about MySpace, and MySpace took the social networking reigns from Friendster. Is Facebook only a fad or is it the web platform of the future? Is it in danger of losing users do to clutter, or does the open platform make it a better user experience? Share your thoughts and comments!

I think Facebook's sun will set, as it over-permits customization and variation on Profile pages. It will degrade into MySpace.

Future networks need to strike that key balance between similarity and uniformity, with the desire (and need) for third party plug in's to keep the site fresh.
